  • Bears charge over Bullitt East

Another week, another win for the Spencer County Bears football team, as they made the short drive to Mt. Washington Friday and took care of traditional rival Bullitt East, 43-21 to improve to 4-0 on the season.

It was not a game without hiccups, however, as the Bears coughed up a couple of turnovers and gave up two late scores, but Coach Mike Marksbury’s team remains perfect on the season and could even move up in the rankings. Last week, they were ranked 4th in class 4A among 41 teams in Kentucky, and ranked 19th overall, out of 221 schools.

  • Undefeated Bears roll again

In past seasons, Spencer County Bears’ Football Coach Mike Marksbury said his team hasn’t handled success well. They seem to have learned from their mistakes as they now sport a perfect 3-0 record following a 40-8 thrashing of region foe East Jessamine Friday night.

In the third and final game, the girls got behind early, but rallied to make it respectable, before falling 25-17. The girls are still looking for their first win of the season, and were to host Bullitt Central on Tuesday, and will host Collins on Thursday night.
