COLUMN: Overloaded? Maybe it’s time to slow down

I have one of those things called a smart phone.  It’s probably smarter than I am!  It stores phone numbers, I can text and send e-mail, I can search the internet and watch video, I can keep records on it, I can even use it as a flashlight or an alarm clock!  But it I’ve noticed the more I do on it, the shorter the battery life.  In fact I regularly carry a couple of extra battery just in case. For example if I have a long phone call, or listen to music on it, and especially if I am using the GPS to find my way around, the battery dies quickly.
