A registered sex offender living in Spencer County was arrested twice last week for mooning a school bus and exposing himself to an adult woman.

Michael W. Lewis, 37, of the 200 block of Isaac Way, faces multiple disorderly conduct charges, a terroristic threatening charge and an indecent exposure charge for incidents occurring last Tuesday and Thursday.
Three separate complaints were filed and warrants issued for Lewis’ arrest.
According to the first warrant, generated at 3:42 p.m. last Tuesday, “the above named defendant unlawfully with the intent to cause public alarm twice this morning mooned a Spencer County school bus on which affiant’s children were passengers.”
The affiant, whose name was not released by the Spencer County Sheriff’s Department, also states that Lewis threatened to commit a crime by threatening to assault her juvenile children, and that he mooned the school bus the prior week as well.
The second warrant was issued at 3:46 p.m. last Tuesday, based on a complaint from the driver of the school bus, whose name also was not released.
“Affiant states that the defendant mooned the bus during her high school/middle school route and again on her elementary school route,” the warrant says.
The bus driver estimated six or seven minors were on the high school/middle school route and four minors were on the elementary route, according to the warrant. The driver also confirmed Lewis mooned the bus the prior week.
Lewis was arrested around 11:30 a.m. last Wednesday, but did not stay in custody long.
Thursday, at 1:05 a.m., a third warrant was issued after an adult woman reported to police that on Tuesday, “[Lewis] intentionally exposed his genitals under circumstances likely to cause affront and alarm to affiant ... affiant states that the defendant dropped his pants in his front yard and mooned her as she was leaving for work.
“Affiant states that the defendant [bent] way over at his waist and used his hands to grab both buttocks. Defendant then pulled his buttocks apart, exposing his rectum. Affiant states that she could clearly see his genitals exposed between his legs.”
The affiant, whose name was not released, says she has video surveillance of the incident, according to the warrant.
Deputy Todd McClease arrested Lewis a second time Thursday at 4:09 p.m. As of Tuesday afternoon, Lewis was still in custody in the Shelby County Detention Center.
According to the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, Lewis is a move-in offender from New Jersey. His original conviction was for endangering the welfare minor.
Lewis is a lifetime registered sex offender whose victim was 14 years of age.
