The Spencer County Extension Service will host its fall sewing boot camp on Thursdays in October, beginning Oct. 10.
The class will meet weekly on Thursdays for four weeks from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This boot camp project is an inverted pleat skirt with 2-inch wide exposed elastic waistband.
Class size is limited to eight and is open to anyone age 18 and up with basic sewing skills. The cost is $50, which covers lunch, elastic and pattern making supplies. All other class supplies will need to be brought to class.
Patti Davis, sewing and machine embroidery enthusiast, and Pat Douglas, master clothing volunteer, are teaching the class.
The first class, on Oct. 10, will be devoted to custom measuring and the drafting of custom patterns for the class project. Skirts can be made in sewer’s choice of length. The fabric purchase will be determined by your custom plans. The type of fabric suitable will be discussed at the first class.
Call the Extension Office at 477-2217 to reserve your seat as soon as possible.
