  • When Paul wrote 1 Timothy 6:10, he really knew a lot of people and where their heart was. 1 Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

  • Holiday meals, especially Thanksgiving, often go hand-in-hand with turkey. In fact, it’s probably safe to say that more homes will be serving turkey on the major fall and winter holidays than any other item. Many family cooks have prepared this favorite for years and years with recipes and instructions that have been lovingly handed down through generations and which they, in turn, will hand down to their children. In some homes, cooking the first turkey might even be seen as a rite of passage.

  • I do not like pumpkin pie. I love the flavor of pumpkin. I am a fan of pumpkin bread and pumpkin ice cream. There is just something about the texture of the pie that turns me off. So I look for desserts that feature pumpkin in other ways.

  • Assertiveness is an attitude and a way of acting in any situation where you need to do something like:
    • express your feelings.
    • ask for what you want.

A disorder described as Generalized Anxiety is characterized by chronic anxiety that persists for a period of at least six months.

  • Halloween has come and gone and a lot of candy is left behind. I have found that Halloween candy can last far longer than one might expect, even not in the freezer. It is hard for me to pass up holiday candy clearance sales when the discount goes to 70 percent off. The candy keeps for a long time (sometimes years) and I use it for treats throughout the year.
