County approves pay hike

After delaying a vote for two consecutive meetings, the Spencer County Fiscal Court approved pay raises for most county employees during the meeting Monday night. The additional wages will cost the county about $138,000 in pay and benefits, but could help the county retain employees.
Judge-Executive John Riley said raises for employees has been on his priority list since he took office, but the court had been seeking more information on just how much proposed raises would cost. Most employees will see about a .50 an hour increase.
