    Park Membership Meeting

    Friends of Taylorsville Lake State Park’s Annual Membership Meeting, chili dinner & silent auction. is Thursday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. Spencer County-Taylorsville Chamber of Commerce building, 19 E. Main St., Taylorsville. We’ll review 2018 accomplishments and announce goals for 2019. There will be some great auction items, so bring your checkbook and your friends! FTLSP Board  - FTLSP.ORG

    Absentee voting has started

    In-house absentee voting began Oct. 12 in the Spencer County Clerk’s Office. If you will be out of town on election day (November 6, 2018) or are unable to vote at your precinct due to age or disability, please stop by the office any hours they are open to vote in person.
    The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. It is open on Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. It does not close for lunch. It will be open Saturday, October 27 from 8 a.m. until noon.

    Main Street’s Progressive Dinner

    Tickets are now on sale for the annual Taylorsville Main Street’s Progressive Dinner. The dinner will take place at various spots in downtown Taylorsville on Saturday, September 29. Pre-dinner food and drink starts at 5 p.m. with the main course at the Chamber of Commerce at 6 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased at The Red Scooter, The Tea Cup, or Taylorsville Hardware. Tickets at the door will be $35.

    SCHS Class of 1983 Reunion

    The Spencer County High School Class of 1983 35th Year Reunion will be held on Friday, August 24 at Jeptha Creed Distillery in Shelbyville beginning at 5 p.m.
    There will be a local band, Usual Suspects, playing and a food truck will be on site. This is an outside event so please dress for comfort.
    A second get together will be held on Saturday, August 25 starting at 11 a.m. at the Taylorsville Lake Pavillion #1. Pack a picnic lunch, bring your lawn chairs and come enjoy an afternoon with classmates and their families.

    Habitat for Humanity
    Community Forums

    The Spencer County Habitat for Humanity board will host two community forums in which Spencer County residents can receive information about the Habitat for Humanity mission, and be pre-screened for eligibility to apply as a prospective partner family.
    Prospective families must meet income and credit requirements, and must be willing to provide volunteer sweat-equity towards their own home and other HFH projects. The community forums are designed to explain the application process and requirements.

    MPCAA Public Meeting
    Multi-Purpose Community Action Agency’s Board of Directors will meet on Monday, July 23at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Spencer County Fiscal Court, 28 E. Main Street, Taylorsville. The public is invited to attend. Multi-Purpose CAA provides services for families in Bullitt, Shelby and Spencer counties.
