    The following cases were heard by Judge Donna Dutton in Spencer District Court on Sept. 2, 2011:

    Anthony J. Carman (1977), speeding 20 miles over the legal limit, guilty, $183 court costs and fines.

    Ashley N. Nash (1991), speeding 17 miles over the legal limit, guilty, state traffic school, $143 fines and court costs.

    Christopher D. Nation (1991), inadequate silencer, amended to defective equipment, guilty, $163 court costs and fines.

  • COLUMN: Learning the art of being truly thankful

    Well, here we are, another Thanksgiving Day — my 75th. I remember many of them with fond memories of family gatherings here and yonder.
    No, it’s not Turkey Day (as some call it), but a day that has been set aside in our wonderfully blessed country to always come on the fourth Thursday of November, and in Canada, on the second Monday in October.
